Singapore was part of my 2022 trip through Southeast Asia, and I was in Singapore again in 2026.
It is the easiest country in the region for logistics: clean public transport, English everywhere and reliable mobile data. It is also expensive compared with its neighbours, so many backpackers use it as a short stop between Malaysia and Indonesia.
